Until a few years ago it was commonly believed that Rev. James O'Kelly was a schoolmate of Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson, and affirmation formerly often made from pulpit and press. However, it is to be doubted if he attended college in America, as his name does not appear in the register of matriculates in William and Mary, Princeton, or Harvard.
