William Kelly, Gentleman, Dublin
I think it likely that William Kelly a gentleman of Dublin who died in 1597 may have been born about 1525 and he was the son of a Thomas Kelly who died in 1560 in Dublin and they were likely O'Kelley of Bregia and the father of the Thomas Kelly the first of our family to convert from Irish Catholic to Anglican and who received land in 1591 in Corvally Co Monaghan.  There is no method that I have found to prove this but a close examination of the O'Kelly of Hy-Many pedigree fails to find any Williams living near generation 35 and in that time they would all likely have been living in Connaught and not in Dublin.  Our family tradition story claims that William O'Kelley was the father of Thomas O'Kelley and because my ancestor Thomas Kelly named a son William Kelly I think it likely that this William Kelly was the father of Thomas Kelly.
William O'Kelley Dublin "Gentleman" and my grandmother married in Ireland about 1543 and had the following children:

+2 ii. Thomas O'Kelley born about 1545
